The OASC Conference 2027 is the flagship annual event of the Open & Agile Smart Cities & Communities (OASC) network — a growing community of over 195 cities and regions across more than 40 countries, committed to building more open, interoperable and human-centric digital solutions for urban development.
Building on a decade of experience, the OASC Conference continues to evolve, reflecting the needs and ambitions of its member cities and partners. From early discussions on interoperability and minimal interoperability mechanisms (MIMs) to current dialogues around AI, data sovereignty and funding impact, each edition has contributed to a stronger ecosystem of collaboration, trust and practical action.
Since its foundation in 2015, OASC has worked to empower local and regional governments to take control of their digital transformation through practical and standards-based approaches. At the heart of this mission is the belief that digital innovation must serve cities and communities and foster collaboration across borders and sectors.
The OASC Conference has become the key meeting point for public administrators, policymakers, technologists, researchers, and innovators who are driving this transformation. Over the years, the conference has travelled across Europe — from Brussels to Rotterdam to Tampere and Fundão in 2026 — each edition deepening the conversation and strengthening partnerships around shared digital building blocks.
At this conference, the OASC community shares, discusses and tries to understand how today’s complex challenges in digital transformation can be tackled by re-visiting the original core OASC values: being open and acting agile to stay on track in developing and deploying interoperable solutions around the world.
These are the key issues for the OASC Conference 2027.
What to expect
Over two days, you will explore how openness and agility can help keep digital transformation on track. Not in theory, but in practice.
Together with cities, communities and other ‘smart city’ stakeholders, you will look at what it really takes to respond to fast-moving technological, economic and societal change.
Participants will:
Throughout the conference, you will hear how others are working through collaboration, shared standards, practical solutions and trusted partnerships. We hope you will leave with ideas you can take forward in your own context.
