About the OASC Conference 2027

The OASC Conference 2027 is the flagship annual event of the Open & Agile Smart Cities (OASC) network — a growing community of over 150 cities and regions across more than 30 countries, committed to building more open, interoperable, and human-centric digital solutions for urban development.

Building on a decade of experience, the OASC Conference continues to evolve, reflecting the needs and ambitions of its member cities and partners. From early discussions on interoperability and minimal interoperability mechanisms (MIMs) to current dialogues around AI, data sovereignty, and funding impact, each edition has contributed to a stronger ecosystem of collaboration, trust, and practical action.

Since its foundation in 2015, OASC has worked to empower local and regional governments to take control of their digital transformation through practical and standards-based approaches. At the heart of this mission is the belief that digital innovation must serve cities and communities and foster collaboration across borders and sectors.

The OASC Conference has become the key meeting point for public administrators, policymakers, technologists, researchers, and innovators who are driving this transformation. Over the years, the conference has travelled across Europe — from Brussels to Rotterdam and Tampere in 2025 — each edition deepening the conversation and strengthening partnerships around shared digital building blocks.

“Open & Agile cities & communities” real-world approaches to digital transformation

Cities and communities are navigating fast-moving technological, economic and societal change. In this context, being open and agile is no longer an experimental choice for frontrunners, it is a practical necessity.
OASConf27 invites cities, municipalities and smart city stakeholders to explore how openness and agility can help keep digital transformation on track: through collaboration, shared standards, practical solutions and trusted partnerships.
Across two days, participants will exchange experiences, discover real-life approaches, visit local sites, hear pitches from new members and companies and connect with peers during dedicated networking moments.
