Biography

Emily is a Post Doctoral Researcher working in the SABRE Research Centre, within SETU’s Department of Architecture and Built Environment.  She is an Innovator for the national Build Digital Project and also Director of Landscape Research Group, in which she develops and manages transdisciplinary and transnational networks to support and inform landscape researchers and practitioners.

She holds a PhD from SETU focusing on the application of the landscape biography methodology to an Irish landscape. She is currently working with Leiden University developing the biographical guidelines to ensure their relevance and applicability to today’s “wicked problems” of the climate crisis and increasing conflict and migration, combined with the complementary use of technology.

She is Project Manager on an EPA-funded innovative research project combining digital twin technology with landscape biography for the environmental analysis of a coastal region in County Waterford.
