Living-in.EU is the initiative that supports cities and regions to advance in their digital transformation. One of the topics we work on is financing of digitalisation projects. We have a dedicated financial working group where cities and regions discuss joint investment plans, synergies between EU, national, regional and local funds, reinforcement of investments and common public procurement practice that allow to implement common existing digital solutions on a large scale in the EU. We also look at specific funding instruments and calls.
The aim of this session is to give an overview of two of the key EU funding programmes which provide funding for digitalisation projects (Horizon Europe and Digital Europe) and discuss with the participants whether these programmes meet their needs, and what are the challenges to access them. Many calls in these programmes are open to third countries, so don’t hesitate to join us if you don’t come from an EU member state! Participants will share recommendations and success stories which will feed into the next activities of the financial working group. The financial WG is open to any interested city! The session will cover Horizon Europe and Digital Europe (draft) work programmes for 2026-2027.
