The City of Tampere has partnered with Wapice Oy to implement IoT-TICKET®, an advanced Internet of Things platform designed to enhance urban living and decision-making. This platform integrates diverse data sources to create a comprehensive situational overview, enabling the city to automate operations and optimise maintenance activities. Initial applications include controlling outdoor lighting and monitoring urban areas, with future plans to incorporate image analytics for traffic flow analysis and smart harbor solutions. By improving energy efficiency and service quality, the platform supports Tampere’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 and fosters a collaborative ecosystem involving citizens, educational institutions, research bodies, and businesses in developing smart city solutions.
